It has been a while since I have written. During this time, I have struggled with what I have always referred to as the ‘point of ultimate ugliness.’ Every art project I have undertaken has reached this point at one time or another during its creation.
The ultimate ugliness is chaos–untied shoe strings, a pile of junk on the curb–it is a cake baked in a warm oven. When I reach this point, there is a decision to be made: do I push through this ugliness and have faith that something good will emerge, or do I give up and lay it aside?
I am grateful for all the support I continue to receive from family, friends, and four-legger creators–with everyone’s help, I know Lolong will be beautiful in the end!
